Meet Some of Our Trainers

Bridget Renlund

Bridget's life with dogs began at age two, when her parents brought her home a springer puppy named Joe. They grew up together, and Joe convinced her that life without springers was simply not for her.

For the last 35 years, she has bred, raised, and trained English springers, all from the same family of dogs.

Her husband says, "Other women go for lunch and shopping. My wife does dogs".

The dogs who have lived with her have earned titles in obedience, agility, working dog, and have certified as canine good citizens and therapy dogs.

She has raised and placed puppies with the goal of making the best possible combinations of puppies and families. Among those puppies are a group winning bitch, an AKC ACE award winner in search and rescue, some fine hunting dogs, and others competitive in obedience, hunt tests, and agility. All are primarily much-loved companions.

She has taught puppy and obedience classes, and thoroughly enjoys one-on-one training, where she can watch relationships between dogs and their families bloom.

Currently, Bridget, her husband and sons share their household with Margaret, Buckles, and Peg, whose photo you see with her here.

Leda Blom

Leda was born and raised in St. Cloud Minnesota in a family that had a true love for dogs. Growing up she spent most of her free time helping her Mother and her Father training and raising canines including working with her mother in her grooming business. She's had the opportunity to be around many breeds of dogs over the years and when asked about it Leda will say, "I guess you could say K9's are in my blood".

Leda has been working professionally with dogs since 1998 and has supplemented her hands-on experience with formal training in classes, seminars and workshops given by leaders in the field.

Leda comes to Wagging Tails Pet Resort with a strong belief that you can teach any dog to be a well mannered companion and to respect the rules of your household, all by using positive reinforcement. She strives to improve the lives of both canines and humans alike. She works with all ages and breeds of dogs, but specializes in retrievers.

While she's off training her dogs she has a wonderful support team. She is married and has a wonderful son. When she is not training her dogs she is very active with her son and his school.

Leda's a happy, outgoing and vibrant person, who loves working with people and pets. Her motto ."Life is Good".

Lois Young

Lois Young has taught obedience classes for over 30 years. She has raised and shown Australian Shepherds since the 1980’s, competing successfully in obedience and conformation, plus working them in herding, tracking and agility. She has also bred and shown Arabian horses and raised beef cattle.

She was a vet tech for over 17 years. One of her most fun training adventures has been coordinating “Dances with Woofs”, a 14 hander dog synchronized dance group. She has performed in Minnesota and Wisconsin at many charity events, senior facilities and the Minnesota State Fair.

Lois’ main goals for instructing owners and their dogs to become great companions are:
    1. To keep the dogs out of the Humane Society
    2. To make your dog into a valuable member of your family for years to come

Grete Krause

I grew up always having a family dog that we shared in the care of among my siblings. We also each had our own rabbit to care for. At age 13, I was given a rough coated Collie and I named her Sage. This was the first dog that I formally trained and competed with her for her CD title in AKC. She was a wonderful dog and I had her until she was 12 years old. As she aged, we purchased our first Australian Shepherd, and his name was Nibs. I continued to show in obedience and added in conformation and herding. It started a long career of showing and teaching and learning from seminars and training my own dogs.

I teach obedience classes in Hugo and have done private in home training for several years along with over 15 years of Invisible Fence training.

I breed and show Australian Shepherds and show labs. I founded and continue to develop as Service Dog program, and also train all my dogs as Therapy Dogs. They also participate in Agility, Herding, Conformation, and Obedience.
